December 7, 2023

MANCHESTER, N.H. — The New Hampshire congressional delegation announced that $1.5 million in grants have been allocated to New Hampshire through the Department of Justice's Community Oriented Policing grant funding.

Organizations in New Hampshire will be receiving a total of $1,563,304. The funding was awarded to the Concord School District, the University System of New Hampshire, the New Hampshire Department of Justice, Belmont Police Department, Allenstown Police Department and Hopkinton Police Department.

The grants are intended to improve school security, implement crisis intervention teams and assist with accreditation and hiring at the various organizations.

"I'm proud to have helped secure these grants that will support hiring and training efforts, as well as strengthen school security in our state. I'll keep working to increase investments for COPS programs that benefit New Hampshire's law enforcement officers," said U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, the Chair of the U.C. Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies, which funds the DOJ.

U.S. Sen. Maggie Hassan and U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas said they would continue their support for law enforcement and such grants.

"Thank you to our law enforcement community and officers for all they do to keep us safe," said U.S. Rep. Annie Kuster.
