Pappas opens congressional office in North Conway

October 10, 2024

CONWAY — The first dedicated congressional office in the Mount Washington Valley is now open.

U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas (D-Manchester), who is seeking a third term in the First Congressional District, opened the office in Unit 4 of the Priscilla’s Country Kitchen lot (between Miracle Ear and Timberland Home Care) in North Conway Village on Tuesday afternoon. He was joined by Mt. Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce Director Michelle Cruz and MWV Executive Councilor Jac Cuddy for a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Pappas hopes constituents will find the office helpful. It will be staffed primarily by Victoria Laracy, a special assistant for policy and projects for Pappas.

After cutting the ribbon, Pappas said, “This is going to be a great home for us. As you know, Victoria Laracy has been leading our efforts in the valley helping out constituents and getting out to all the community organizations to make sure we’re well connected with folks, but to have a home base here where she can bring in community members and meet with constituents who have issues is going to be a real upgrade to our efforts. We’re just thankful that you all joined us to help christen the new space.”

About 15 people attended the ceremony.

Pappas Communications Director Collin Gately said it is the third Pappas office in the Granite State. There are also offices in Dover and Manchester.

“We’re excited to be able to offer more constituent service in the Conway area,” he said.

Pappas is being challenged in the Nov. 5 general election by former Executive Councilor Russell Prescott (R-Kingston). Voting in Conway is set to take place at Kennett High from 8 a.m.-7 p.m.
