ADVISORY: Pappas to Discuss ACERT in Manchester, Deliver Remarks to Volunteer NH, and Promote New Active Transportation Legislation in Londonderry

MANCHESTER, NHOn Friday, January 31st at 9:00 AM in Manchester, Congressman Pappas will visit Manchester Central Fire Station to meet with first responders, local officials, and health providers who are partners of Manchester's ACERT (Adverse Childhood Experiences Response Team) program to discuss the work they are doing to mitigate childhood trauma through Safe Stations and other resources.

Congressman Pappas has introduced legislation in the House to nationalize the ACERT program piloted in New Hampshire. Manchester ACERT was launched in 2015 by Lara Quiroga at Amoskeag Health, in collaboration with the Manchester Police Department and YWCA NH. Lara will be present at this event and also will join Congressman Pappas as his guest to the State of the Union next week to highlight this issue and press for passage in the House.

Later on Friday at 11:45 AM in Concord, Congressman Pappas will deliver remarks at the Volunteer NH Annual Meeting.

Lastly on Friday at 1:00 PM in Londonderry, Congressman Pappas will hold a community conversation with Londonderry Trailways and active transportation advocates to discuss new legislation he introduced this week. The Connecting America's Active Transportation System Act provides $500 million in funding for a federal grant program to help build connected active-transportation routes including trails, sidewalks, and bikeways that support the health and economic growth of our communities.
