Congressman Pappas reacts to President Trump’s State of the Union address
February 6, 2019
Washington, D.C. - Congressman Chris Pappas issued the following statement in response to President Trump’s 2019 State of the Union address:
"The President expressed interest in working together to make progress on the issues Americans are most concerned about. There are a number of opportunities to do that, and I'm eager to get to work in a bipartisan fashion to combat the opioid crisis, ensure efficient and high quality care for our veterans, make bold investments in our country's infrastructure, and keep America safe. This would mark a positive shift for the President, who has pursued partisan policies which have further stacked the deck against New Hampshire families and produced the longest government shutdown in our nation's history. If the President is prepared to advance concrete solutions to address our country's most persistent problems, I stand ready and willing to work with him and members of Congress to get the job done."
