Pappas Helps Pass Bipartisan Antitrust Enforcement Legislation
Today, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) helped pass H.R. 3843, the Merger Filing Fee Modernization Act, in the House of Representatives. This bipartisan legislation will improve funding for federal antitrust enforcement agencies, lower the burden placed on small businesses, make foreign adversarial interests in merger transactions more apparent, and protect the resources of state antitrust enforcers through changes to the multidistrict litigation process.
“We must ensure that federal antitrust agencies and state officials have the resources they need to enforce our antitrust laws effectively,” said Congressman Pappas. “I’m pleased to see this legislation advance through the House today which will protect consumers and small businesses, ensure our national security, and support our state Attorneys General.”
This legislation is supported by the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) and the office of the New Hampshire Attorney General.
