Pappas Helps Pass Bipartisan CR Extending Government Funding, Preventing Government Shutdown

November 14, 2023

Today, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) released the following statement after voting for a continuing resolution to extend government funding through at least January 19:

"Today, I voted to keep our government open and ensure we fund vital services, pay federal workers, and prevent any possibility of a government shutdown through the end of the year. But we shouldn’t have to govern this way. It is well past time for the House to finalize a bipartisan, full-year deal with the Senate that meets our nation’s needs. Granite Staters are counting on us to take continued action to boost our economy, address the opioid crisis, and strengthen our communities. Constantly passing continuing resolutions does not help us take the comprehensive action we need to address these pressing issues. I continue to urge Speaker Johnson to put an end to the extremism and partisan games we’ve seen in the House and work in a bipartisan manner to pass full-year funding bills as soon as possible.”
