Pappas Named To Small Business Committee

February 1, 2023

Pappas will remain on the Veterans’ Affairs and Transportation and Infrastructure Committees in addition to new assignment supporting Main Street businesses

Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) announced he will serve on three committees for the 118th Congress. He will be joining the House Committee on Small Business while continuing to serve on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure as well as the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs.

“As a small business owner, I understand the challenges that our small businesses face, and I’m thrilled to be joining this committee to work on legislation that will support Main Street businesses in New Hampshire and throughout the country,” said Congressman Chris Pappas on the Small Business Committee Assignment. “With ninety-nine percent of our businesses in New Hampshire classifying as small businesses, they are key drivers of our local economy and workforce. I look forward to continuing my work on behalf of small businesses that I have already begun this Congress, including passing my bipartisan bill, the Expanding Access to Capital for Rural Job Creators Act on Monday. I remain committed to listening to the needs of our small businesses, working in a bipartisan fashion to address their concerns, and bringing their voices and stories with me to Washington.”

“As a member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I look forward to ensuring that New Hampshire has a seat at the table when it comes to federal investments in our roads, bridges, railways, water systems, and airports,” said Congressman Chris Pappas on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Assignment. “In the previous Congress, I fought to pass the bipartisan infrastructure law, and we must continue to provide oversight and ensure the law’s full implementation. Investments in our infrastructure strengthen our public safety and health, bolster the local economy, and improve our quality of living, and I will continue to advocate for New Hampshire's priorities.”

“It’s an honor to serve as a voice for New Hampshire’s veterans on the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs for another term. Veterans and military families make immeasurable sacrifices to ensure our country remains safe and free, and it’s important we honor their service by ensuring they receive the care, support, and respect they have earned,” said Congressman Chris Pappas on the Veterans’ Affairs Committee Assignment. “Last Congress I was proud to introduce several bipartisan bills that were signed into law, including expanding VA burial benefits for National Guard and Reserve members, provisions in the PACT Act to improve VA services for veterans in rural communities, protecting veterans from unfair VA debt collection practices, and improving VA’s processes to expedite payments to veterans’ survivors. I will continue to listen to New Hampshire’s veteran community and ensure our government lives up to the promises made to servicemembers, veterans, and their families.”
