Pappas on Two Year Anniversary of the Attack on the Capitol
January 6, 2023
Washington, D.C. - Today, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) released the following statement on the two year anniversary of the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol:
“Two years ago on January 6th, a group of violent insurrectionists attacked the Capitol and attempted to overturn a free and fair election. This deadly assault on our democracy resulted in the death of five police officers and left many seriously injured. We must always honor the sacrifice of those brave officers and their families. I am forever grateful for the U.S. Capitol Police and all members of law enforcement for their bravery and patriotism two years ago on this day. Their actions ensured our democracy survived and that the people's business could continue."
