Pappas, Tenney Reintroduce Bipartisan Remembering Our Local Heroes Act

June 30, 2025

Today Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) and Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-24) reintroduced the Remembering Our Local Heroes Act, bipartisan legislation to direct the Secretary of the Interior to establish a grant program to provide funding for memorials honoring veterans, law enforcement officers, and firefighters.

“First responders, members of the military, and all those who have served our nation deserve to be honored and remembered for their service and sacrifice,” said Congressman Pappas. “This bipartisan legislation will help communities in New Hampshire and across the country build, maintain, and restore memorials honoring our heroes, ensuring that they will never be forgotten.”

“Our veterans, first responders, and law enforcement officers embody the very best of our nation, as they serve with courage and selflessness. Local memorials honoring their legacy are powerful reminders of the values we hold dear. The Remembering Our Local Heroes Act ensures that communities in New York and across the country have the resources needed to preserve and restore these tributes for future generations,” said Congresswoman Tenney.
