Pappas Votes on Continuing Resolution to Keep Government Open and Fund Critical NH Priorities
Legislation includes FAST Act fix Pappas led, preventing New Hampshire from losing $37 million in federal funding
"Today I was pleased to vote for a Continuing Resolution that will not only keep our government open but safeguards critical infrastructure spending for New Hampshire, fully funds life-saving health programs, and provides a pay raise for our brave men and women in uniform," said Congressman Pappas. "Although this legislation will avoid another catastrophic government shutdown, I call on my Senate colleagues to advance long-term appropriations bills that advance the priorities of the American people and give our communities the certainty they need."
Today's Continuing Resolution includes a repeal of the FAST Act rescission protecting states from a $7.6 billion loss in highway funding, following a letter Congressmen Chris Pappas (D-NH) and Don Young (R-AK) led calling on House leadership to take immediate action. New Hampshire was set to lose up to $37.8 million, or 20 percent of its annual federal infrastructure funding.
