Pappas Votes to Ease Inflation, Lower Costs for Granite State Families

June 16, 2022

Today, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01), issued the following statement afterhelping pass the bipartisan Lower Food and Fuel Costs Act to combat rising costs and deliver relief to New Hampshire families:

"There's no more pressing priority than lowering the cost of fuel and groceries for New Hampshire families. This bipartisan legislation will support America's farmers and lower costs in the grocery aisle, lower meat prices, and make cheaper fuel available to families as well. Granite Staters are feeling the impact of price increases and inflation right now, and I'm going to keep pushing for further Congressional action to provide badly-needed relief to Granite Staters."

Background:

The Lower Food and Fuel Costs Actis part of a package of bipartisan bills to lower prices for America's families in the grocery aisle and at the gas pump by giving America's farmers and ranchers the support they need to thrive.

In June, Pappas called on House leadership to bring legislation to the floor that would address inflation and supply concerns and lower rising costs for families.

In May, Pappas passed legislation to crack down on price gouging and lower gas prices for Granite Staters.
