Pappas Votes to Stand Up Against Russian and Chinese Aggression, Support Our Allies, and Provide Humanitarian Aid

April 19, 2024

Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) released the following statement on his votes to pass H.R. 8034, the Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, H.R. 8035, the Ukraine Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, and H.R. 8036, the Indo-Pacific Security Supplemental Appropriations Act:

“In the wake of Russia’s deadly invasion of Ukraine and the October 7th attacks by Hamas on Israel, it could not be clearer that U.S. leadership is needed at this critical moment to support our allies and our shared security interests,” said Congressman Pappas. “This legislation will provide strategic support to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan and much needed humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians in Gaza. This assistance will safeguard our national security, invest in our defense industrial base, protect and strengthen our alliances, and defend democracy from authoritarian regimes in Russia, Iran, and China. Today’s strong bipartisan votes show we can stand tall with common purpose as Americans and act in accordance with our shared values and in defense of our security interests. I urge the Senate to take these bills up swiftly and deliver them to the President’s desk for his signature.”
