RELEASE: Congressman Chris Pappas announces 2019 Congressional App Challenge
Manchester, N.H.– Today, Congressman Chris Pappas announced that his office will be hosting the 2019 Congressional App Challenge for students across the First District. The Congressional App Challenge is a competition aimed at encouraging middle and high school students to learn how to code by creating their own applications. The challenge is intended to highlight the value of computer science and STEM education.
"I encourage students across the district who are interested in coding to participate in the 2019 Congressional App Challenge, regardless of their experience," said Congressman Pappas. "It is important that we encourage our students to develop the skills they will need to succeed in tomorrow's economy, and my hope is that this competition will shine a light on all the growing talent that we already have here in New Hampshire."
The submission portal is now open and students are encouraged to register online by September 10th before submitting their app by November 1st. The competition is open to all students who meet the eligibility requirements, regardless of coding experience. To learn more about the competition or to submit an app go to my office's official website at https://pappas.house.gov/2019-congressional-app-challenge.
