Rep. Pappas Statement on the Administration Blocking a Whistleblower Complaint from Congress
WASHINGTON, DC - "I am deeply concerned that the Administration is blocking leaders in the intelligence community from providing Congress with a whistleblower complaint that the Inspector General has determined to be both an ‘urgent concern and credible,'" said Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01). "Congress has a constitutional duty to provide oversight, and it is imperative that we work expeditiously to get information that will allow us to do our job. Blocking Congress from receiving whistleblower complaints not only has potential implications for our national security in this case but also will discourage future whistleblowers who seek to provide critical information for the American people. This complaint should be provided to Congress as required under law, and the substance of the claim should be investigated thoroughly and without delay."
