September 20, 2019

MANCHESTER, NH - Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01), a member of the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs and Chair of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, released the following statement on the departure of Al Montoya, Jr. as Medical Center Director of the Manchester VA Medical Center:

"Since his appointment as Medical Center Director in Manchester, I have gotten to know Al well and have enjoyed a close working relationship to support New Hampshire veterans. Al has been relentless is his pursuit of excellence at the VA and tireless in his advocacy for veterans and their needs. Al always wants to get to ‘yes,' and he has gone above and beyond to help turn around the Manchester VA Medical Center, improve care, and restore trust. A 10-year Air Force veteran himself, Al is a dedicated public servant, and veterans have greatly benefitted from his leadership. I wish him well, and I will work closely with Manchester VAMC leadership during this transition to ensure there's continued progress for veterans and their families."
