Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) released the following statement after the release of President Trump's proposed Fiscal Year 2021 budget:
"I am deeply concerned that President Trump's proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2021 contains irresponsible cuts to programs and initiatives that thousands Granite Staters rely on, including Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. Additionally, this proposal would completely eliminate the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) as well as the Northern Border Regional Commission, a critical development engine for our communities. These draconian cuts would hurt New Hampshire residents who need help the most including seniors and those struggling with substance abuse. I urge members of both parties to work together to defend critical services and put together a responsible budget that invests in our people and our future."
