Rep. Pappas Statement Supporting NH Small Businesses
Small Business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to patronize businesses that are small and local
Today, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) released the following statement marking Small Business Saturday and encouraging Granite Staters to shop local this holiday season:
"New Hampshire's small businesses are the backbone of our economy and are part of the fabric of our state and communities," said Congressman Chris Pappas. "As a small business owner, I know that running a local business is a challenge during the best of times—and we are far from the best of times. New Hampshire's Main Streets are resilient, creative, and tough as Granite. They've been through a lot, but they need our continued help. That is why I encourage everyone in New Hampshire to take some time during Small Business Saturday and throughout the holiday season to support local businesses, in a socially-distanced manner or online."
"I'll continue to highlight stories from our small business community to help push leadership from both parties to come to the table, meet in the middle, and get a deal done in Congress. That's essential to ensure our local economy can survive and thrive."
"I've had the honor of meeting hundreds of small business leaders in the First District, and the challenges they face are extraordinary. Their businesses are innovating and adapting, their teams are working harder than ever, and the community has had their backs. I know New Hampshire residents will continue to look for ways to support the local businesses they cherish, and it's important to make that commitment this holiday season and beyond."
