As the Winter Olympics in Beijing are set to begin this week, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) has joined a bipartisan coalition of 25 House Members in sending a letter to President Biden in response to Chinese officials threatening punishment for athletes who engage in prohibited speech during the 2022 Winter Olympic Games.

In the letter, the lawmakers requested information on the steps being taken by the Biden administration to ensure U.S. athletes are not targeted by the Chinese government for political reasons.

Today, U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and Representatives Annie Kuster (NH-02) and Chris Pappas (NH-01) welcomed $774,475 to help Granite State families cover the costs of heating and cooling expenses. This funding is the first installment of the five-year $500 million investment in the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) allocated through Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and is administered by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Chris Pappas (NH-01), along with U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and Representative Annie Kuster (NH-02) and today welcomed $11,317,034 heading to New Hampshire to support 25 health care providers who have experienced revenue losses and expenses related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The funding comes as part of a $2 billion national announcement in Provider Relief Fund (PRF) Phase 4 payments from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
