This week, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01), member of the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs and Chair of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, sent a letter to Secretary of Veterans Affairs Denis McDonough urging that VA provide an action plan to address deficiencies in acquisition management identified by the Government Accounting Office (GAO) as part of its High-Risk List. The plan would detail the key steps and timeline to fix major problems with VA's antiquated medical supply chain.

Today, U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced with U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and Representatives Annie Kuster (NH-02) and Chris Pappas (NH-01) that New Hampshire will receive over $8.75 million to support wildlife and sport fish restoration, as well as vulnerable species conservation, through the US Fish and Wildlife Service.

This legislation amends existing civil rights statutes to provide LGBTQ Americans with the same protections all other Americans enjoy in key areas of life, including employment, housing, credit, public services, and education. The Equality Act has overwhelming public support with more than 7 in 10 Americans supporting it.
