Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) hosted high school artists from across the First District, their families, and community leaders for a reception at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics as part of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition. Rep. Pappas presented this year’s first-place award to Julia Thomas, a student at Raymond High School. Second and third-place recognition was awarded to Emily Dahl, a student at Manchester Memorial High School, and Rui Hernandez, a student at Pinkerton Academy, respectively.

Today Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01), a small business owner, alongside U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Maggie Hassan (D-NH), and Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander (NH-02) celebrated Granite State small business owners and entrepreneurs at the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) annual National Small Business Week awards at the Manchester Historic Association’s Millyard Museum. The annual awards recognize the outstanding achievements and contributions of individuals and businesses that have been supported by the SBA.

Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) joined Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10), a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and co-chair of Abraham Accords Caucus, and 26 fellow House Democrats on a letter to President Trump urging him to call on Prime Minister Netanyahu to immediately restore the flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza. 

Today Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) issued the following statement after the passing of former U.S. Supreme Court Justice David Souter:

“Justice Souter dedicated his life to the law and public service, and he always demonstrated a fidelity to the Constitution and embodied our New Hampshire values. This is a sad loss for our state and country, and I know his legacy is one that will endure.”

Today Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01), a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander (NH-02) introduced the Air Traffic Control Workforce Development Act of 2025, bipartisan legislation to tackle the nation’s air traffic controller staffing shortage and invest in the future of American aviation. Congressman Nick Begich (AK-AL) is the sponsor of this legislation.

This week Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) signed a discharge petition filed by Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), that would force consideration of a special rule to prevent cuts to Medicaid and food assistance by amending the Congressional Budget Act to protect Medicaid and SNAP from any reduction in coverage or benefits in the reconciliation process.
