The New Hampshire delegation celebrated the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) announcement of $24,898,000 in new funding for New Hampshire for drinking water infrastructure, including to identify and remove lead pipes. The funding comes from the bipartisan infrastructure law, which was negotiated by Senators Shaheen and Hassan, and which the full New Hampshire Congressional delegation supported.
CONWAY — The first dedicated congressional office in the Mount Washington Valley is now open.

MANCHESTER, N.H. – On Wednesday, local leaders gathered at Fire Station 5 on Webster Street to celebrate a $3.7 million FEMA Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) Grant.
Manchester Fire Department Chief Ryan Cashin said that grant will allow the Manchester Fire Department (MFD) to hire 12 new firefighters for three years, with those firefighters being stationed at Station 5 as well as Station 2 on South Main Street and Station 7 on Somerville Street.
The Manchester Fire Department has been awarded a Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Responders (SAFER) grant for $3.7 million, which the department will use to increase staffing levels, city and federal officials said Wednesday.
Manchester Fire Chief Ryan Cashin said the grant, awarded through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), will fund 12 firefighter positions for three years.
“This grant will increase the department staffing for the first time in 20 years,” Cashin said.
The New Hampshire delegation applauded the announcement of more than $19 million headed to New Hampshire from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Lead Hazard Reduction Grant program to help protect families with small children from the dangers of lead-based paint exposure. Specifically, the New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority is receiving $7.75 million, the City of Nashua is receiving $7.7 million, and Sullivan County is receiving $4 million through the grant program.

The New Hampshire delegation announced $2.4 million in grants for New Hampshire nonprofits, including houses of worship, under the Nonprofit Security Grant Program.
