Today Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) and Congresswoman Michelle Steel (CA-45) introduced the Strengthening Cybersecurity in Health Care Act. This bipartisan legislation would require consistent evaluations of the Department of Health and Human Services’ cybersecurity systems to help combat hacking crimes and keep Granite Staters’ personal health information safe. Senator Maggie Hassan (NH) is co-lead of the Senate companion bill.

New Hampshire will receive $21,547,769 in grant funding towards affordable housing, community development, and homeless assistance and $9,971,896 in Public Housing Repair grant funding to improve and modernize public housing stock in the Granite State.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – More than $30 million in federal funding is coming to New Hampshire from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to help address the state’s housing affordability crisis.

Today, the New Hampshire delegation announced that $29,880,604 in State Opioid Response (SOR) grants are now being made available to the State of New Hampshire. The delegation fought to secure this funding to help the state address the substance use disorder (SUD) in the government funding legislation for fiscal year (FY) 2024 that was signed into law.

Today, the New Hampshire delegation announced  $28,650,000 from the  U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to help New Hampshire identify and replace lead service lines, preventing exposure to lead in drinking water. Lead can cause a range of serious health impacts, including irreversible harm to brain development in children. This funding is from the bipartisan infrastructure law, which the delegation fought to pass and available through EPA’s successful Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF).

Today, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) released the following statement after voting to pass the Antisemitism Awareness Act of 2023:

“As antisemitic incidents in the United States continue to rise at alarming rates, including disturbing acts of vandalism and graffiti here in New Hampshire, we must all stand united and say with one voice that there is no place for antisemitism in this country. Today and every day we must reaffirm our commitment to ending hatred, bigotry, and antisemitism in all its forms.”
