Today, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) applauded President Biden for signing his bipartisan legislation, the Extending Temporary Emergency Scheduling of Fentanyl Analogues Act, into law. This bill, which Pappas introduced in the House, extends the Drug Enforcement Agency's (DEA) temporary order to keep fentanyl-related substances in Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act. The legislation passed unanimously in both the House and Senate.

Today, U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and Representatives Annie Kuster (NH-02) and Chris Pappas (NH-01) announced that the Merrimack River Watershed Council will receive $6,857,745 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service's Regional Conservation Partnership Program. The funding will allow the Council to protect source water areas along the Merrimack River watershed, revitalize habitats for vulnerable fish and wildlife species and boost climate resilience.

Today, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) welcomed several members of the New Hampshire National Guard, including Major General David J. Mikolaities, as his virtual guests ahead of President Biden's address to a joint session of Congress tonight.

Pappas wanted to honor New Hampshire's National Guard, who have been at the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis for more than a year in addition to being called in to help protect our nation's Capitol after the January 6th attack.
