U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced today with Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and Representatives Annie Kuster (NH-02) and Chris Pappas (NH-01) that New Hampshire agencies and organizations have been awarded $4,591,679 from the Northern Border Regional Commission (NBRC) for various projects that invest in economic and community development.
Today, U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and Representatives Annie Kuster (NH-02) and Chris Pappas (NH-01) announced that New Hampshire venues have started receiving federal funds through the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) Program. The delegation worked to establish this program in the emergency COVID-19 relief legislation that was passed by Congress and signed into law last December to provide grants for live venues, independent movie theaters and other Granite State cultural institutions.
Package also includes $5.92 million secured by Pappas to fund seven New Hampshire projects that will support first responders, connect homes to broadband, and invest in New Hampshire's infrastructure
Today, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) supported bipartisan legislation to reimburse the National Guard and U.S Capitol Police for the costs of defending the United States Capitol following the attack of January 6th. Following the insurrection, the National Guard was deployed to Washington, DC for several months, costing an estimated $521 million. The legislation also provides vital funding to the Capitol Police, as well as making security improvements and repairing damage sustained on January 6th.
