Washington, D.C. - Today President Trump finally agreed to a deal to re-open the government. The President urged the Senate to take up this legislation immediately. Chris has voted 10 times to re-open the government since taking office in early January.

Washington D.C. – Today Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and Representatives Annie Kuster (NH-02) and Chris Pappas (NH-01) sent a letter to the Chief Executive Officers of Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion – the three major credit reporting agencies in the country — asking the agencies to prevent late or missed payments that occur during the shutdown from negatively impacting individuals' credit ratings.

Washington, D.C. - Today Congressman Chris Pappas voted to end the shutdown and keep our communities safe through increased border security measures. The legislation passed today includes six bipartisan appropriation measures that received broad bipartisan agreement from House and Senate negotiators at the end of the 115th Congress. Additionally, this legislation contains more than $1.6 billion to keep communities safe – including funding for more immigration judges at the border, investments in ports of entry infrastructure, and assistance to Central America.

Washington, D.C. - Today the Supreme Court of the United States ruled 5-4 along partisan lines to allow President Trump's transgender military service ban to take effect while a lower court case proceeds. A study conducted by UCLA in 2014 showed that there are more than 15,000 transgender active duty, reserve, or National Guard military service members and more than 134,000 transgender veterans in the United States. Chris is one of 10 LGBTQ members of Congress, the largest group in history. He is the first ever openly gay member of Congress from New Hampshire.

Washington, D.C. - Today Congressman Chris Pappas learned he has been assigned to the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure as well as the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs. Addressing New Hampshire's infrastructure needs and improving services to veterans will be top priorities for Chris over the next two years.
