Washington, D.C. – Today Congressman Chris Pappas voted to pass a long-term, bipartisan reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), which he proudly co-sponsored. VAWA provides law enforcement officials and organizations the resources they need to help prevent domestic abuse and seek justice for survivors. Since VAWA was first passed in 1994, the rate of domestic violence has declined by over 50 percent.
Washington, D.C. – Today Congressman Chris Pappas stood up for New Hampshire families by voting to pass House Resolution 271, which he co-sponsored, condemning the Trump Administration's efforts to dismantle the Affordable Care Act. The Trump Administration's lawsuit seeks to gut Medicaid expansion, eliminate tax subsidies that make health insurance affordable, remove the cap on out-of-pocket costs, and take away protections for people with pre-existing conditions.

The proposal totals a record-high $4.75 trillion in spending while cutting key programs and services that are essential for millions of Americans. One bright spot in the budget is the sustained funding for state and local assistance to combat the opioid crisis.
