The New Hampshire delegation today announced $24,955,036 in public transit funding for New Hampshire. The funding comes in part from the Hassan and Shaheen-negotiated bipartisan infrastructure law, which provides the largest investment in transit ever. Senator Hassan was a member of the bipartisan group negotiating transit funding.
The New Hampshire delegation welcomed $335,865 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to support Granite State firefighters in Portsmouth and Laconia through the Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program. The AFG program provides direct financial assistance to eligible fire departments in order to enhance the safety of firefighters and the public.
Today, Representatives Chris Pappas (NH-01), Dan Newhouse (WA-04), and Tony Gonzales (TX-23) introduced the bipartisan Save Americans from the Fentanyl Emergency Act or SAFE Act. This legislation would permanently schedule all fentanyl-related substances as Schedule I drugs to ensure law enforcement can keep them off the streets.
