Today, the New Hampshire delegation welcomed $1,591,818 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to support Granite State firefighters in Barnstead, Surry and New Boston, as well as the New Hampshire Department of Safety’s Division of Fire Standards and Training and Emergency Medical Services, through the Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program. On Tuesday, August 30, U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen and Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) joined United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai for events in New Hampshire. 

In the morning, Congressman Pappas and Ambassador Tai toured Galvion, a business in Portsmouth that designs, develops, and delivers protective armor and head systems, as well as innovative power supply and management solutions for military and tactical operators worldwide. During the tour, they also heard from Galvion representatives about how exporting impacts their business.

U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH), Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), and Representatives Annie Kuster (NH-02) and Chris Pappas (NH-01) announced today that the Department of Homeland Security has awarded New Hampshire more than $4.8 million for the State Homeland Security Program. New Hampshire nonprofits, including houses of worship, will also receive $927,608 under the Nonprofit Security Grant Program. Senator Hassan has successfully worked to increase funding for this grant program.
