U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), chair of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee that funds the Department of Justice (DOJ), announced today with U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and U.S. Representatives Annie Kuster (NH-02) and Chris Pappas (NH-01) that New Hampshire will receive $500,000 through DOJ's Community Oriented Policing (COPS) Hiring grant program. The COPS Hiring program supports state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies' ability to hire, preserve and/or rehire law enforcement officers and increase community policing efforts.

Today, U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Maggie Hassan (D-NH), and Representatives Annie Kuster (NH-02) and Chris Pappas (NH-01) announced that the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration (EDA) will award New Hampshire $8,360,978 in State Tourism grants. The funding was allocated through the American Rescue Plan, which Pappas supported. The funding will support marketing, infrastructure, workforce and projects to boost business and travel.

With cold weather arriving in New Hampshire and energy prices rising, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) has called on the Biden Administration to take swift action to lower costs for families and communities this winter. In a letter with other members of the New England Congressional delegation, Pappas called on the president to take action to lower energy costs for families, including releasing inventory from the Northeast Home Heating Oil Reserve (NEHHOR) and Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR).
