**Announcement comes after NH Delegation sent letter to HHS supporting PPNNE's application for dire needs funding**

This week, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) helped introduce the Invest to Protect Act, bipartisan legislation that will secure funding for small police departments to improve training and standards, recruit and retain officers, acquire body camera data storage, and provide mental health resources for officers.

Today, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01), a member of the House Veterans Affairs Committee, helped the House to pass the EVEST Act, which will automatically enroll eligible servicemembers in VA health care during the transition process.

The New Hampshire Congressional delegation announced today that New Hampshire will receive more than $1.6 million in FY 2022 through the Army Corps of Engineers for important improvements to the shipping channel and turning basin near Portsmouth Harbor and the Piscataqua River through the new bipartisan infrastructure law. In addition, $81,000 will be used for needed repairs to the Franklin Falls Dam and $50,000 to further investigate erosion and shoaling in the Hampton Harbor.

Every home in the U.S. is now eligible to order four at-⁠home COVID-⁠19 tests. The tests are completely free and will be shipped via the United States Postal Service.

Today, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01), Co-Chair of the bipartisan House Small Business Caucus and Senator Maggie Hassan joined Small Business Administration Isabel Guzman for a downtown walk in Derry to meet with local businesses who received support through SBA programs during the pandemic funded through legislation crafted and supported by Pappas and Hassan. Later, Pappas hosted Administrator Guzman at a small business forum in Manchester with Queen City small business owners.

U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) led Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and Representatives Annie Kuster (NH-02) and Chris Pappas (NH-01) in applauding $76,744,300 heading to 226 rural providers and suppliers in New Hampshire. These payments come from the American Rescue Plan to support rural providers and providers treating rural patients who experienced revenue losses and expenses related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Funding was announced this morning through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).

U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and Representatives Annie Kuster (NH-02) and Chris Pappas (NH-01) welcomed the Department of Transportation's announcement of $225 million from the bipartisan infrastructure law dedicated for bridge repairs and replacements across New Hampshire. This funding is part of $26.5 billion heading to states over the next five years – the largest investment ever to improve the safety and performance of bridges.
