Represents a 34% increase in funding for roads and bridges in New Hampshire

WASHINGTON, DC - Infrastructure legislation that Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) helped craft as a member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure has passed the House. The legislation contains several New Hampshire priorities Pappas fought for as a member of the Committee, including provisions to reimagine active transportation, fund commuter rail, and address PFAS contamination.

U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, and U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and Representatives Annie Kuster (NH-02) and Chris Pappas (NH-01) announced CARA Local Drug Crises Grants to help stem the substance use disorder epidemic in New Hampshire. The recipients include the Dover Coalition for Youth and the Raymond Coalition for Youth, each of which will receive $250,000 over five years.

Today, Chris Pappas (NH-01) helped introduce the Multi-State Worker Tax Fairness Act. This bill will prevent the over-taxation of individuals who telework in one state for companies located in another. Pappas was joined by Reps. Jim Himes (CT-04), Annie Kuster (NH-02), and Jahana Hayes (CT-05).

Today, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01), a small business owner and Co-Chair of the House Small Business Caucus, joined more than 200 Members of Congress in a bipartisan letter to Administrator Isabel Guzman of the Small Business Administration urging immediate action to stabilize and improve the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) program, which is intended to provide emergency assistance grants to venues that were unable to operate during the pandemic.

Washington, D.C. - This week, the Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) announced that $5 million in funding is available to expand accreditation programs and assist agencies with gaining accreditation to ensure compliance with national and international standards covering all aspects of law enforcement policies, procedures, practices, and operations. No less than $1.5 million is to be provided for small and rural law enforcement agencies for this purpose.
