Washington, D.C. – Today Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01), who serves on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, supported the House passage of the bipartisan Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 2020 which plays a critical role in our nation's water infrastructure.

This year's package includes key provisions to support New Hampshire's environment and economy that Pappas fought for including key language instructing the Army Corps of Engineers to complete projects at Portsmouth Harbor, the Piscataqua River, and the Rye Harbor project.

Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) released the following statement after the House voted on the MORE Act:

"This is an incredibly important conversation to have, and it deserves the appropriate time and consideration from Congress," said Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01). "There are elements of the MORE Act that I strongly support, including de-scheduling marijuana at the federal level and empowering states to determine their own policies that make sense for them."

New Hampshire's Congressional delegation issued the following joint statement after President Trump authorized an extension of the New Hampshire National Guard's activation through March 31, 2021 to help respond to the COVID-19 crisis, but maintained reduced federal funding support. Since August 21st, New Hampshire has only been reimbursed 75 percent for the Guard's activation rather than the previous reimbursement of 100 percent.
