Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, our coastal communities, and in particular, the marine and aquaculture industries, have experienced severe negative economic impacts due to decreases in exports and sales to restaurants.

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) announced that he will again serve on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure in the 117th Congress and will continue to make transportation and infrastructure a top priority in his second term in Congress.

Today the House passed a 5-year reauthorization of the National Apprenticeship Act containing key language introduced by Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) to increase apprenticeship opportunities and create more good, high-paying jobs amid the on-going economic crisis caused by COVID-19.

This morning, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) held a virtual roundtable with New Hampshire small business owners who have participated in the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). PPP helped retain more than 120,000 jobs in New Hampshire's First District by last August, and Pappas has sought continued feedback from Granite Staters to ensure the program is strengthened in the next round of COVID relief legislation.

Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) introduced legislation to ensure that low-income New Hampshire families who are covered by Medicaid can access COVID-19 treatments and vaccines free of charge.

By waiving cost-sharing under these programs, the Ensuring Vaccination and Treatment Affordability Act will help guarantee vulnerable Granite Staters can receive necessary health services to protect themselves and their families from the virus.

Today, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) announced he will co-chair the bipartisan House Small Business Caucus, a group of Republican and Democratic lawmakers committed to strengthening small businesses throughout the country. Joining Pappas as co-chair will be Congressman Kevin Hern (OK-01).

In addition to Reps. Pappas and Hern, 69 Members will join the Small Business Caucus this Congress.
