NH Delegation Announces $19.78M in Funding Through CARES Act to Support Nursing Facilities Amid COVID-19 Pandemic
MANCHESTER, NH - Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) released the following statement after it was reported that President Trump would end National Guard deployments of members deployed to assist with COVID-19 response just days before they would qualify for post-9/11 GI Bill benefits.
Today Representatives Chris Pappas (NH-01) and Annie Kuster (NH-02) along with their Senate colleagues Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Maggie Hassan (D-NH) sent a letter to the Secretary Steven Mnuchin calling on the Treasury to make adjustments to the Payroll Protection Program (PPP) so that it can more effectively serve the needs of Granite State small businesses.
Legislation would provide an estimated $1.5 billion to New Hampshire cities, towns and counties to sustain essential services, and $3.5 billion to the state government. It also includes nearly $30 million for planning, preparation, and resilience of state elections.

Today, Representatives Chris Pappas (NH-01) and Annie Kuster (NH-02) continued their call for House leadership to include robust funding for local governments in the next COVID-19 response package. The representatives joined with mayors, county commissioners, and town officials from across the state to send a letter to House leadership urging them to ensure local governments have access to federal aid moving forward.
