As Granite Staters eagerly await the delivery of gifts for friends and loved ones at the peak of holiday shopping season, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) is pushing Congress to pass the Porch Pirates Act of 2024 which would increase penalties for package theft and safeguard millions of dollars that New Hampshire residents lose each year to so-called “porch pirates.”
The bipartisan Destruction Initiative for Stored Precursors Overseas and Safe Enforcement (DISPOSE) Act, championed by Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01), was included in the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2025 that the House passed this week. This bipartisan legislation would create fentanyl and precursor chemical destruction facilities in three critical drug trafficking choke points: Mexico, Colombia, and Peru.
Congressman Chris Pappas’s (NH-01) Securing Our Northern Border Act was included in the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2025 that the House passed yesterday. This bipartisan legislation would require the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to establish the Northern Border Mission Center to strengthen implementation and coordination of the Northern Border Strategy, which includes training, information sharing, intelligence, and engagement with federal, state, Tribal, local, and international government partners.

Today the House passed Congressman Chris Pappas’s (NH-01) bipartisan bill to ensure post-disaster services are delivered timely and taxpayer dollars are spent efficiently, cutting down on waste and fraud. It has passed the Senate and is headed to the President’s desk for his signature.
Today the New Hampshire delegation sent a letter to Baxter International urging it to address IV fluid supply issues in the state by improving the reliability of shipments and increasing the amount of IV fluid delivered to New Hampshire health care providers. Following damages to Baxter’s IV fluid and dialysis solutions production facility in North Carolina during Hurricane Helene, New Hampshire hospitals, doctors, and paramedics have worked diligently to extend their existing supplies of IV fluid to prevent service disruptions.
This week Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) joined a bipartisan coalition of House members in calling for urgent passage of his bipartisan Combating Illicit Xylazine Act.
Today Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) led the House in passing legislation to designate the U.S. Postal Service facility located at 609 Portsmouth Avenue in Greenland, New Hampshire, as the Chief Michael Maloney Post Office, in honor of the late Chief Michael Maloney who served as a law enforcement officer for 26 years, including 12 as the Chief of the Greenland Police Department before he was tragically killed in the line of duty.
