Manchester, NH- Today Representatives Chris Pappas (NH-01) and Annie Kuster (NH-02), who are both members of the bipartisan PFAS Task Force, introduced legislation that would regulate the discharge of PFAS within our nation's waterways. The Clean Water Standards for PFAS Act will reduce PFAS discharge and hold polluters accountable by adding PFAS to the Clean Water Act's Toxic Pollutants List, allowing the EPA to regulate its release in our water systems.
Manchester, NH- Today Representative Chris Pappas joined Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan in announcing a $700,000 grant for the University of New Hampshire's Nurse Practitioner Program. These funds, granted through Health and Human Service's Advanced Nursing Education Workforce program, will allow UNH to work with healthcare providers throughout New Hampshire to address the behavioral health and opioid crises.

Washington D.C.- Today the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure approved two amendments offered by Vice-Chair of the Coast Guard Subcommittee Chris Pappas (NH-01) in the markup of the bipartisan Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2019. The Coast Guard Authorization Act fully funds the Coast Guard for the next two years with more than $11 billion in discretionary funding for each fiscal year, which will allow them to address a backlog created by previous budget cuts.

Congressman Pappas secured three major wins for New Hampshire by successfully including amendments that increase funding for comprehensive opioid abuse programs, strengthen loan and grant programs for rural broadband deployment, and improve health care services for female veterans.
Today the House passed the first appropriations package for fiscal year 2020 which included three amendments Congressman Pappas introduced to expand research on the impacts of PFAS contamination, strengthen our regional economy, and support our Army's Back-packable Communications Intelligence System technology.
