MANCHESTER, NH/LOWELL, MA –Yesterday, Representatives Chris Pappas (NH-01) and Lori Trahan (MA-03) led a dual city tour along the Merrimack River to highlight the need for federal support in updating the river's wastewater infrastructure. Along with Acting Administrator for EPA Region 1 Deborah Szaro, and other state and local officials, the Representatives toured the Manchester Wastewater Treatment Facility and went on to Lowell to hear from community leaders and stakeholders about and to see the concerns firsthand.

Hooksett, NH – Yesterday, Representatives Chris Pappas (NH-01) and Annie Kuster (NH-02) held a roundtable discussion with representatives from the Manchester VA, state of New Hampshire, health care providers, spouse survivors of suicide and local veterans to discuss ways to strengthen health care services related to suicide. The purpose of the event was to garner greater understanding and collaborate to realize opportunities to collectively prevent suicide among servicemembers and Veterans.

Washington, D.C.- Congressman Chris Pappas, who serves as the Vice-Chair of the Coast Guard Subcommittee, took to the House floor to advocate for the Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2019. The Coast Guard Authorization Act fully funds the Coast Guard for the next two years with more than $11 billion in discretionary funding for each fiscal year, which will address a backlog created by previous budget cuts. This authorization also includes language Congressman Pappas introduced to improve recruitment and retention of women to ensure the U.S.

Manchester, N.H.– Today, Congressman Chris Pappas announced that his office will be hosting the 2019 Congressional App Challenge for students across the First District. The Congressional App Challenge is a competition aimed at encouraging middle and high school students to learn how to code by creating their own applications. The challenge is intended to highlight the value of computer science and STEM education.
