Washington D.C. – Today Congressman Chris Pappas voted for House Joint Resolution 27 which would fully fund the federal government through February 1. The measure was designed to give Congress time to negotiate a longer-term fix without making federal employees continue to bear the burden of Washington's dysfunction.

Washington D.C. – Today Congressman Chris Pappas delivered his first House floor speech which coincided with Day 20 of the government shutdown. In his remarks, he highlighted stories of his constituents who are suffering as a result of the shutdown and urged both parties to come together to reopen the federal government.
Washington, D.C. – Today Congressman Chris Pappas voted to empower House Counsel to intervene in court to defend the Affordable Care Act and protections for Americans with pre-existing conditions. The Department of Justice has refused to defend the ACA as the law of the land in Texas v. U.S.
Washington, D.C. - Immediately after being sworn in as a member of the 116th Session of the House of Representatives, Congressman Chris Pappas will make it his first official act to reject a paycheck until the government is re-opened. This afternoon, Congressman Pappas will send the attached letter to the Chief Administrative Officer of the House, making the request official. Congressman Pappas has pledged to support the House efforts to end the partial government shutdown that is affecting 800,000 federal government workers.
