Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Chris Pappas (D- NH-01) announced the first of two legislative packages to fund the government through fiscal year 2024 will include funding he secured for two projects in Manchester among others across the New Hampshire First Congressional District.

The first provides $850,000 to fund he Downtown Traffic Signal Infrastructure Improvements project, which will improve signal timing with active detection technology for the safety for both pedestrians and drivers.

The projects will invest in New Hampshire’s water and sewer infrastructure, support the development of new housing, help open a child care facility, and provide for essential public safety operations.

The New Hampshire delegation condemned Republican objections to Senate Democrats’ attempt to protect in-vitro fertilization (IVF) by passing the Access to Family Building Act by unanimous consent. Today’s effort is in response to the outrageous decision in the Alabama state Supreme Court that ruled embryos are legally considered children, causing multiple IVF clinics in Alabama to suspend services.
