Bipartisan legislation introduced by Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01), a small business owner and member of the House Committee on Small Business, has received the support of the Bipartisan Policy Council as part of the group’s bipartisan small business recommendations.
U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen, Chair of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies, which funds the Department of Justice (DOJ), announced with U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and Representatives Annie Kuster (NH-02) and Chris Pappas (NH-01) that the New Hampshire Department of Safety will receive a $1 million Anti-Heroin Task Force (AHTF) award.

Today the New Hampshire delegation announced that New Hampshire will receive a Department of Energy (DOE) award totaling $6,619,797 to help modernize the state’s power grid. The funding will be used to invest in disadvantaged communities, bolster grid resilience for extreme weather and other disruptive events, and provide additional workforce development and training opportunities. New Hampshire will hold a competitive selection process to identify projects in need of this funding.

This legislation will protect members of the military, including the Coast Guard, as well as certain U.S. Department of Defense civilian employees and contractors should Congress fail to provide temporary or full-year federal funding by September 30, 2023.
