A 222-mile fiber optic cable will bring faster and more reliable high-speed internet to homes, schools, hospitals and businesses in Grafton County, thanks to a $12 million federal grant to build and improve broadband.

Today the New Hampshire delegation announced that $11,969,000 in bipartisan infrastructure law funding was awarded to Grafton County to develop a 222-mile fiber optic cable that will provide surrounding communities with faster and dependable high-speed internet. This project will provide the infrastructure needed to support future growth and expansion of Grafton County’s broadband needs with minimal additional investment. The delegation supported the bipartisan infrastructure law.

Today the New Hampshire delegation announced that the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services is receiving $7,640,000 in fiscal year (FY) 2023 bipartisan infrastructure law funding to address emerging contaminants in drinking water with a focus on projects addressing perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). The funding was allocated through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to the state’s Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF).

Today the New Hampshire delegation announced that $750,000 in federal funding from the Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Support Program is coming to organizations in Portsmouth and Souhegan Valley to support youth substance use prevention programs. The Greater Portsmouth Youth Wellness Coalition will receive $625,000 over five years and the Community Action for Safe Teens, a committee of the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley, will receive $125,000.
