Today, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) joined his colleagues in introducing a bipartisan resolution in support of the people of Israel and condemning the barbaric terror attacks and violent kidnappings perpetrated by Hamas against the Israeli people this weekend.

Today the New Hampshire delegation announced that New Hampshire will receive a Department of Energy (DOE) award totaling $6,619,797 to help modernize the state’s power grid. The funding will be used to invest in disadvantaged communities, bolster grid resilience for extreme weather and other disruptive events, and provide additional workforce development and training opportunities. New Hampshire will hold a competitive selection process to identify projects in need of this funding.

Today Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) called for the passage of H.R. 5641, the Pay Our Troops Act. This legislation will protect members of the military, including the Coast Guard, as well as certain U.S. Department of Defense civilian employees and contractors should Congress fail to provide temporary or full-year federal funding by September 30, 2023.

MANCHESTER, N.H. —If lawmakers cannot reach a deal, the federal government is shutting down Saturday night, and a New Hampshire representative is introducing a bill to hold lawmakers accountable during a government shutdown.

Rep. Chris Pappas helped introduce a bill that would fine lawmakers an amount equal to a day's worth of pay for each day the shutdown lasts, in addition to holding them accountable.

"If the politicians in Washington aren't doing their work, then they shouldn't be paid to be on the job on behalf of the American people," Pappas said.
